How can I bulk add drop down choices to a custom field?

I've scoured the documentation, and I cannot figure out how to bulk add? I get this message for the field I am trying to create upon import:

The validation process has found 3 warning/s

* The value [ {null=x} ] can't be added to the Custom Field [ Client ]. The value [ {null=x} ] can't be found or is in the incorrect format

Per your description, I believe you are trying to bulk create options to a select list custom field, however, Jira does not have this functionality although we have some workarounds to achieve it, as you can see in this documentation:

How to bulk add multiple options to a custom field

Now, if you are trying only to select the already created options for a custom field in a bunch of issues, you might follow the documentation below:

How to bulk import custom field values for certain types of Custom Field

That being said, could you also provide us which documentation you are using and more details on what you are trying to achieve?
