Public View of Dashboard / Filters

1. Created a Dashboard using filters for use of sharing the dashboard with Public (Non-logged User)

2. Made the dashboard public 

3. Tried same with the filter however public access defaults it to non shared 

 

Issue:

1. Any logged-in person is not able to see the data on dashboard and it comes as blank screen 

Need it to publish on a digital signage

Thank you for reaching out.

By default, JIRA projects are configured with a permission scheme that allows only logged users to access their content (issues). So, even if your dashboard is configured to be public, the issues (content) returned on them can still be restricted to external users, depending on the projects of the issues you display on your dashboard.

Also, the ability to share dashboards and filters are turned off by default in JIRA Cloud.

That being said, I believe that one of the reasons above might be causing your dashboard to not display any content for non-logged users. The following steps should allow you to display your dashboard content to non-logged users, however, have in mind that:

1 - Permission schemes are usually applied to multiple projects in JIRA. That being said, make sure to use separate permission schemes for the projects you want to be public, to avoid any restricted projects to be public too.

2 - ALL the persons on the internet will be able to see your public project issues.

These would be the steps to make your dashboard content public:

1 - Logged as a site-admin, navigate to Jira Settings > System > General Configuration > Edit Settings > Turn-on the Public sharing

2 - Navigate to your dashboard > Click in the three dots drop-down > Edit Dashboard > Set the dashboard to be Public

3 - For any filters that you return in your dashboard gadgets, make sure they are public by clicking on details > Setting the filter as public:

4 - For all the projects you want to display the issues in your Dashboard, navigate to Project settings > Permissions > Edit > Add the group "Public" to the Browse projects permission. P.S: As mentioned before, it will cause all the issues in your project to be visible by anyone on the internet.
