Is it possible to restrict workflow status options based project role

I have a project which contains 3 project roles (developer, product owner (PO), QA).

The PO can create a task but after that, he can view the "in progress" status, and he can choose it, (and after select the others status)

I don't want that the PO choose other status, but just create a task.

I want that the developer to be able to use the "In progress" status and "To be Validated" status.

I want that the QA to be able to select "QA validated" status or "QA failed" status.

Is it possible?

Yes, you can. Start by making a copy of your workflow for backup purposes and then add conditions to your workflow transition.
you can add a condition based on the roles you have
