Finding values in a particular field & portfolio plugin

Hello,

Currently in all our projects we have a field 'Environment' which is configured as text field . But, we need to change it as drop down.

Before performing this update, how can I find the list of issues/projects which has filled this field . So, I can inform those projects to update it after the field type modification.

Also, we noticed in the portfolio plugin, the sub tasks created under the Kanban board were not appearing in the portfolio hierarchy. Is it due to any settings issues or it is not possible to have sub tasks created under Kanban to view under portfolio?

here is what i would do.

using this JQL - environment is not empty

sort the results by project and scan thru and jot down all projects. or you could apply the filter to a dashboard gadget e.g. two-dimensional w/ project as the y-axis and maybe status as the x-axis. this would show you all projects.
