Can't get custom field to show up on screen

Question

I followed the directions for adding a custom field.

When I go to Projects/XXXX/Project Settings | Issue Layout I can choose to Edit Layout for each Issue Type and see the field.  I can move it to where I want on the layout.  When I go to any view (side view, full-screen view new layout, full screen old view) it doesn't show up.

Where's the magical setting to make sure this new field actually shows up on the screen?

Must have been some sort of delay.  I've changed nothing and now the new field shows up.  Consider this closed.
