Yes - you just need to exempt them from your filter. To do this:
^ This will update the board and remove them from view.

@Ste Wright for some reason I can't save it. It says "You can create a new one but you can't save the original.", so I created a new one and when I try to find it in the saved filters there in board settings it doesn't show up.
