How to show only completed issues in the current sprint

We're new to Jira Cloud. We noticed issues that were completed (status marked as Done) in the current sprint are moved to the next sprint after we close the current sprint.

We do not want to show completed issues from a previous sprint in the current sprint on our board. Why does this occur and is there a filter we can use to only show issues that were completed in the current sprint? Thanks for the help.

You must ensure that the Resolution is set when moving an issue to Done. Otherwise it is not considered done in the eyes of Jira scrum. You can either use a Post function on the transition to set it or you can use a screen to require the user to set during transition.
