Update description field of one issue , once description filed of other has been modified

I would like to get a direction of how to implement the following (we are using jira cloud , not standalone installation ) :

Update description field of the issue,  once cloned issue (linked as clone ) description has been updated . All that can happen only to issues with specific "regular expression" in the name .

Hi Stella,

I think I have found a method for you to implement this. However it does have some caveats.  From reading up on the Jira Misc Workflow Extension documentation in https://innovalog.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JMWEC/pages/94142514/Copy+field+value+from+linked+issues

It certainly looks like you can create a workflow post function that can copy field values from one issue to another, and limit it to issues with specific link types.  That catch here would appear to be that this only happens in a transition of the issue.  Out of the box, the description field can be edited even without executing a transition, so in those situation this change would not propagate to the linked issue until the transition is run.
