Two jira cloud logins from 2 different instances

I have 2 logins for different JIRA cloud instances.  One login is for company X and the other for company Y. Both link to the same email address. 

Is there a way to merge or combine these two logins so I can login with one username and password and have access to both instances of jira.

Right now I have to log out of one to get into the other, when ever I need to switch between my projects.

Unfortunately, no. You will have to merge the instances if you want to see both the tickets. Merging in Cloud is not that easy though and it will surely impact both the teams.
