Confluence and Jira cloud - authentication errors

Hi all,

I'm running confluence and Jira in then cloud but my confluence jira macro isn't working for my users, they get the error below:

Problem authenticating. Please check your username and password and try again.

View these issues in JIRA

I've checked the apps seem linked, the jira project is open, the remote API is enabled. Any ideas?

Can you tell me, are Jira and Confluence on the same Cloud instance?
Is this when you're using the Jira Issues Macro, or are you using another macro?
It will help as well if you can send a screenshot of the error itself.

1) Yes they are on the same cloud instance

2) We are using the JIRA issues macro

Thank you for providing the screenshot! I hadn't seen if you sent it before, other than the error message itself, but the screenshots help us understand how the error appears in the UI.

Upon investigation, I noticed that you have created a support ticket for this same issue that is currently being investigated. My recommendation would be to focus on the support ticket since they can access your instance and determine the issue that way.
