Need to give a default Value in "Instructional Text" mode for Mutli line or single line Text fields

Hi Team,

I have a question in Confluence we have a option called "Instructional Text" so when we choose this option the text will appear like highlighted text.

so we can read it when we click on that text it will automatically selects whole text and we can type our won text 

Same Like that I would like to give a default Value for Text Field  in jira so while creating a issue it has to show that value and if any user want to enter some other value once they try to giving the value automatic the default value has to disappear.

1) i have the default value as "Comment"

2) when any user click on that box it will select whole text.

3) when you are typing the text the "comment" will disappear.

 

please can any one suggest me how to do is this possible or not by script runner any other way

@Kumar The instructional text in Confluence, shown here, is a feature of Confluence templates , which can be created in a customized manner.

But in JIRA, the custom fields we create do not have any such ability where they can show temporary text that disappears when user enters some other values. Though the custom fields have the ability to set a default value, which can be overwritten if user enters a custom value.

If the purpose is just to provide a guideline or instruction to the user as to what value needs to be entered in a particular custom field, I would suggest as a good practice to use 'Description' of the custom field, that can be setup while creating or Editing a custom field.
