is it possible to have story childs (not tasks)?

Question

when building a roadmap, we start from the big picture - epic

Next we break down to stories. But typically story will be break down to multiple stories that will be handed over to development team

Is there a way to link stories as child of existing story?

Hello @Eran Kaufman

"Is there a way to link stories as child of existing story?"

No, this is not possible in Jira and also not recommended in Agile. You should ideally have small stories, if your stories are not small enough then they should be Epics instead.

Stories are smallest possible business requirement which should ideally be broken into sub-tasks which can carry implementation details. But story shouldn't be broken down into other stories.
