I am deleting a worklog yet it does not remove timespent

I am experiencing the same problem. I am deleting a worklog via the Jira Rest API remotely with node js. The problem is that deleting a worklog does not affect the overall time spent. Is there some other request that I can make to delete timespent or something????

 

If so what is the request syntax and body???

 

Any help would be appreciated??
