In want to move the cards with "Pending" and "ToDo" labels one list to the right. I want to do that by one press of a button. Is it possible?
Hi Saïd! Welcome to Trello Community!
Yes, you have alternatives to create this.
1 - Create a card button (most simple one)
Click on the Automation > Buttons > Card Button tab
Click on "Create Button" and give the button a name
Click on "Add Action"
Add the option (by clicking on the blue plus sign)
"Move the card to the next list on the board"
When you open a card and click on the button, it will move to the next list on the right
The downside is that you will need to open and click on the button for each card you want to move to the next list.
2 - Create a board button
For that, please click on the Automation > Buttons > Board Button tab
Click on "Create Button" and give the button a name
Click on "Add Action"
Click on "move card" type of action then you will out the action that starts with "move each card"
Then click on the funnel icon to select the list where the cards with the label are by clicking on the plus sign. Then click on that funnel icon again to add one of the labels to that selection.
Then select the list where the cards should be moved to.
Click on the blue plus sign to add this action to the button then click on save.
The button will appear in the board header.
The downside is that you need to make a specific board button for each label. Furthermore, if you want cards to move from one list to another, and then to another, you'll need to make a board button for each specific movement. For example, one button will move red-labeled cards from list A to B, and another will move yellow-labeled cards from A to B. Similarly, to move red-labeled cards from list B to C, you'll need another button, and so on.
This is due to the automation's limitations - it can't understand the OR operator. If you try to add both labels to the same rule, it will look for a card that has both a red and yellow label, not one or the other.
Hope that helps you! Any concerns let us know!
I see, thank you for the reply. Too bad that it has this limitation. The 2nd one almost has it right. Only that I need to specify the list instead of telling it to move to the next list.
I hope it gets more advanced.
