Hello all,
I signed up for Trello for my team and found that I have a "managed account," I believe this means that someone else in my organization has already created an account using their work email, perhaps for their own team, but I don't understand much past that.
Can this admin or other users access the account and workspace I created for my team? If this admin is just someone on another team and not a true admin, like perhaps if the IT department oversaw our accounts, I would prefer they not be able to access my team's workspace.
How do I determine who the admin of my account is? We have a large organization scattered across the country and it will be difficult to determine who this is without a hint of some kind.
I appreciate any guidance that can be offered while trying to sort this out. Thank you.
Hi, Cecilia.
In your case, this means that your Organization has claimed your domain. A claimed domain in Trello is a domain an organization has verified as belonging to it.
This occurs at the Atlassian Account level, and once you aren’t under the Atlassian Guard license, the admins have limited management features.
In Atlassian Cloud, individual users own their accounts by default, which means that have more control over them than you, even as an admin. To get more control, you need to verify that you own the email domain (for example, @atlassian.com) that is used by these accounts.
Once you do, all accounts from your domain become managed accounts, which transfers the ownership to you. This lets you, for example:
Edit or deactivate the accounts
Apply security policies to, for example, enforce using two-factor authentication
Apply Atlassian Guard Standard specific features that can be used only on managed accounts
Here is more about what the Org Admins can do: https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/make-changes-to-a-managed-user-account/
When you set a Premium Workspace at the Trello level, only the Workspace Members and Board Guests have access to Trello content.
We can’t share the Org Admins on public channels, so I recommend you contact your IT for more information about the Org Admins.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can assist you with.
