×Hey Team,
We are using Jira Service Management and need reports that track the time each assignee spends in different workflow statuses.
For example, if our workflow consists of seven statuses, we want to capture how long each assignee worked in each status. Suppose Assignee A spent 7 hours in the "In Progress" status, and Assignee B spent 2 hours in the "QA-In Progress" status—we need a report that provides this breakdown at the assignee level.
We have attached screenshots of our workflow and an example of the desired report format for reference. Please assist us in generating this type of report in Jira Service Management.
Hi @Dinonath Khan 👋
If you consider installing third-party add-ons, Time In Status сan be solution for you.
1. The usual Time in Status report. It shows you how long tasks were in each of the workflow statuses.
2. The Assignee time report will notify you of how much time each Assignee spent on each task.
3. Also you can see how long a task was in progress on each Assignee or how long it was Unassigned in Dashboard
4. For more in-dept analysing try out Pivot view table. We can evaluate how much the time in the In Progress status has changed depending on the number of tasks, and we can also “dive deeper” and see which tasks have spent a lot of time.
Add-on developed by my team.
I hope you find this helpful 🚀
Not sure if this can be achieved with native reports and gadgets. You can use Jira Rest API's to pull this data from issue change log. Another option would be to try a mktplace app. If you are open to explore one, take a look at
With this app you generate time in each workflow status for multiple issues with multiple filter and grouping options. You can also extract trends analysis and add that as a dashboard gadget too.
The Time with Assignee per Status Report will meet your use case as shown below. Do give it a try.

Hi @Dinonath Khan ,
Hi, my name is Diego, and I’m a developer at AppFire.
I see you have some alternatives, but I highly recommend Dashboard Hub.
Our plugin offers a wide range of gadgets to enhance your dashboards. In this case, you can use Jira Custom Charts, which are incredibly easy to configure. Simply:
- Set a JQL query
- Choose the fields to group by
- Select the chart type that best represents your data
Here’s an example with a Jira custom chart gadget to show the time spent by assignee and status:
You can explore the Dashboard Hub documentation to discover all the features and possibilities this plugin offers here.
Let me know if you have questions,
Diego

Hello @Dinonath Khan ,
You can track the time each assignee spends in different workflow statuses using Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira. The Assignee Duration per Status report will provide a clear breakdown of how long each assignee spent time in each status. This will help you see, for example, how much time Assignee A spent in "In Progress" and Assignee B in "QA-In Progress."
Timepiece reports can be viewed on your reporting page, dashboard gadgets, or directly in the issue view. Timepiece provides both data tables and charts for a more visual, digestible view of the data, and you can export reports in CSV or XLS formats.
Timepiece works with your existing Jira issue histories, just install the app and start generating detailed, actionable reports.
Hope it helps,
Gizem
