What are the access control/security features of the Profields API ?

Deleted user September 1, 2019

To determine whether the Profields plugin is the right fit for us, I'm looking for more information about connecting to the Profields REST or Java API.

  1. How do you set-up a connection? I haven't been able to find any code examples.
  2. What kind of access control / security features are in place?

I hope someone can shed some light on this topic.

Hi Kristel,

I'm Federico Baronti from DEISER. We develop Profields.

From your question, we understand that you need more information regarding our APIs. Here you can find all about then, plus examples in order to create any kind of requests you need:

REST API:

http://profields.rest.deiser.com/

JAVA API:

http://profields.javadoc.deiser.com/

Hope this information helps you and please, do not hesitate in asking any further questions. We'll be glad to answer.

Cheers,
Fede.

Hi Fede,

I already found the information you're pointing me to, but they don't contain any explanation and/or examples whatsoever as to how to set-up a connection and how to use that connection to do subsequent requests.

There's also no information about the details/credentials/tokens you need from the Jira instance to make a connection. Does it use the OAuth mechanism as Jira itself offers, or basic authentication, or do you need credentials to access the underlying database directly?

It's important for us to understand these features before we go and try this plugin (which looks really good from a functional point of view!)

I hope you'll be able to provide this information.

Cheers,
Kristel
