Why do some Closed items disappear from Timeline view while others dont?

We have a timeline view with literally no filters beyond showing from Roadmap to Epic. In it, some Epics and Intitiatives stop showing when marked as Closed (Done), while others keep showing. Why is this?

To make matter more strange, I had a closed Intitiative that was showing on the timeline (item A) and an Epic on another Initiative that would disappear when Closed (item B). I tried moving the Epic, item B, under item A to see what happened, and now both items don't show when Closed; despite item A originally showing when closed before the Epic was moved under it.

Is this a bug? What may be happening?

Hi @Andres Cappiello

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I found this article in Community, where it is said that:

By default, Advanced Roadmaps doesn’t display issues completed in Jira Software more than 30 days ago. You can adjust this timeframe to suit your planning needs.

To adjust the number of completed issues displayed in your plan:

Select Plan settings from the left side navigation.

Select Exclusion rules.

Enter the number of days you’d like completed issues to stay in your plan in the Exclude any completed issues after field. Advanced Roadmaps will automatically save your updates.

By default, Advanced Roadmaps excludes issues completed in Jira Software more than 30 days ago.

See that article.

Hi @Andres Cappiello

Welcome to the community.

Some suggestions from my end.

The Epic's or other issues with status Done have a resolution set?

Are there exclusions set on the plan, or check the resources of the plan, if these include filters, check the filters.

Or what is set as the retention period for done items on the plan? by default this is 90 days, you could limit this, as this is based on the Done status category set for the issue.
