I have removed the users from Confluence and Jira and the count now is 6 and 10. I have changed the plan from standard to free, but its still showing as Standard.
When you change the plan in Site Administration → Billing, the UI doesn't always update instantly across all product screens. Some important points:
Confirm the plan in the “right” place:
Go to: admin.atlassian.com → choose the site → Billing → Manage subscriptions
Check if Jira Software is showing:
“Free” or
Still “Standard” with the next billing date.
Sometimes:
The change was scheduled for the next billing cycle, so:
In practice, you are still on Standard until the cycle turns.
The Jira screen shows “Standard” because, technically, the active plan is still that one.
If, upon entering Billing, the Jira subscription still has the Standard status, the change has not taken effect yet—it has only been requested.
Step 1 – Confirm what the billing says (Source of truth)
Access: https://admin.atlassian.com
Select the site yoursite.atlassian.net.
Go to Billing → Manage subscriptions.
Check:
Which plan appears for Jira Software:
Free
Standard
If there is any warning like:
“Your plan will change at the end of the billing period”
“Next renewal…” with the Standard value still.
If Standard appears there, Jira is simply reflecting that correctly (the change hasn't turned over yet).

Hi @Shalini Pradhan Thanks for the response. Have checked the billing page and its saying that the plan will be applicable from next billing cycle.
