Issue field layout changes ignored

When I click on Configure for an issue, I can add a field and change the field layout. I then save changes fine. But when I open an issue, it first briefly draws the fields in the new layout as I wanted, but then it redraws back to the original layout. As if there is a schema that overrides layout changes. When I click on Configure again, I see my changes fine. Somehow the changed layout gets overruled when rendering. Any ideas?

Hi Goran, maybe a screenshot or a link to a video clip even might help. Is this a Classic project? Can you elaborate on the field configurations you are making that aren't sticking?

I solved the issue by adding the desired field in the Configure Screen Scheme. As I suspected, this scheme is applied to the issue view.
