How can we integrate JIRA with Selenium?

We need to integrate JIRA with Selenium to log the issues and update the results for test cases. We don't have access to add any third party tools to add with JIRA (Add-ons). Is there any way to integrate JIRA with Selenium via API's.

I've searched for add-ons and documentation related to this integration, but there is nothing specific for Selenium.
There is a documentation about Test Case Management that may help you:

We had a feature request suggesting the integration with Selenium that was closed as "Won't do", but it was a long time ago.
Please, feel free to open a new feature request on https://jira.atlassian.com adding the details about why this integration is important for your environment.
