Hide field not available in Field Configuration in the new Jira navigation

Hi community,

I enabled the new navigation only for myself some time ago so I can get used to it but I'm noticing now that there is no option to hide fields from the Field configuration as it was with the previous one. Has this feature been disabled?

I had a big implementation plan related to this feature so if there is any workaround to hide a field from the UI but continue to use it in the background for automations, that would be great.

...the new methodology for hiding fields is to remove them from the field configuration.
