Default board for a scrum project when creating a new project

When creating a new project, I would like to default the board to a pre-defined one (columns, statuses).
I tried using "Share settings with an existing project" but that only copies the schemes and does not create a board automatically.

Hello @Tiberiu Mozes

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Jira does not currently have a feature to create a custom default board to use when a new project is created.

And, yes, selecting the option to "Share settings" does not include agile boards because those are not a project setting. Technically agile boards are a separate entity in Jira that have the option to be associated with a project. More than one board can be associated to a project though. And boards are based on filters, so a project may have a board associated to it where the board filter actually reference multiple projects.

The work around is to copy the original board, and then make a new Saved filter that references the new project, and then set the new board to use the new filter.

Thanks, I will give it a try!
