So going forward, how to track a software development project? Whether to use Spaces or Project? Where can I add the backlogs, plan the sprints, create sub tasks, add the estimates, update worklogs etc ?
Hi and Welcome,
according to Jira ‘projects’ are now called ‘spaces’ its a terminology change – everything else about how you use remains the same.

Hi @Resmy K S - welcome to the Community,
the functionality doesn't change. The only thing that happens that it now will be called "Jira space" rather than "Jira project".
So: A Jira space still is a container for work items. A board still is the view of a defined set of issues - whether that are issues from one or more Jira spaces is up to you. Settings regarding Backlog, Sprints etc. belong to the board.
Editing work items (formerly known as issues) also doesn't change.
It's just a new name for the same thing.

Thanks @Rebekka Heilmann _viadee_ for the detailed explanation. But when I click the Create button on the home page, I get an option to create a Project. When I use that and create a new project, getting completely different options... So you are suggesting that, I should go with Spaces if I wanna track a software development project with a set of backlog items and plan the sprints etc ?
