Automation between Jira Service Management and Jira Cloud

Dear Jira Community,

We use automations in our Jira to create tasks across projects (mainly between Jira Service Management an Jira Cloud). This means we can create a task in another project via a manual trigger.  I would like to include in this automation that the correct epic in the target project is automatically assigned.  Is there a way to do this?

Hi @Viktoria Gassner 

Using automation, you can fill the assignee field (hence assign a task to a person). In order to put the right person to the correct epic, you have to include the logic to do so inside the automation. This can be done with a couple of condition lines in the automation.

As an alternative, you can use components and have the automation pick the component lead as the assignee.
