Amend fields in sub-tasks only

We have a number of projects with screen schemes for different work types.  We would like to make changes to sub-tasks for all projects, which is to add a new field and remove an existing field.  This is for sub-tasks only.  The only way I know to do this is to remove sub-tasks from each screen scheme in each project and create a separate screen scheme for sub-tasks for each project, which feels like quite a bit of work and maintenance going forward. Is there a more efficient way of amending fields for sub-tasks only?

Hi @rmax , your understanding is accurate. The other consideration is that following this process will not impact any TMP projects.

Thank you, just so I understand, how could that occur, is there a difference with Team Managed Projects in this area?  I think ours are all company managed

I'm afraid it's not possible. You may also encounter issues when a screen is associated with both task and sub-task issue types.

The most correct approach is to create separate screens (either from scratch or by cloning existing ones) specifically for sub-task issue types, and then update the screen schemes to use these screens exclusively for sub-tasks.

Yes, it's time-consuming, but you only need to do it once. After that, you won't run into this problem again.

Thank you. Would I need new screen schemes as well?  We have separate schemes for separate work types in some of our projects
