Remove Assets Button or Services Schema

Hi,

I am trying to limit the interface of a Jira instance for certain Users. I have a group of Users who are supposed to be able to work on the Jira instance, however they should not be able to change anything in regards with Assets.

Is there a way to disable to button in the bottom left that redirects the User to the Assets?

If not, is there a way to completely remove, or at least limit the visibility of the 'Services' Schema? It is read-only and even org-admins seem to not be able to administer who can and cannot see it. We don't use it for our instance, so disabling it all together would be ideal.

Thanks,
Felix

Hi @Felix Frankenfeld

As @Aaron Pavez _ServiceRocket_ mentioned this is not possible.

But you can limit the permissions on the asset schemes, so that if people access the schemas then can only view information

See https://support.atlassian.com/assets/docs/what-are-roles/ .

Hi @Felix Frankenfeld

On the ootb schema this is not possible, as this is a locked schema.

This schema can't be adjusted in any way.

To use these permissions, you need to create your own assets schema

Alright got it, so just to be clear, there is no way to prohibit a User from clicking on the Assets button and being able to see the Services Schema?

Hi @Felix Frankenfeld

No.

Only if you would create a custom schema.

Hi @Felix Frankenfeld

Sadly you cant disable those buttons.

You can add permissions, though:

Hi @Aaron Pavez _ServiceRocket_

Thank you for your response. In regards to permissions, are you talking about the System wide Permissions or specifically permissions in the Asset Schema? In the system wide Global Permissions I don't see a permission that affects Assets.

For the Asset Settings, there's the global Asset Settings, but I don't see Roles/Permissions there.

In the specific Asset Schema 'Services', since it is a 'system-defined schema' I only have read-only permissions, which is why I cannot access the Schema Settings through the 3 dots in the circled area.

Please let me know if there is some setting I overlooked. Thanks.
