Populate SLA reporting data from external API

I am very new to using JIRA and would benefit from some guidance regarding a customer request.

We have a REST API that is capturing RPA data on behalf of our client. The event data is being managed on our end but we still need to pipe certain metrics of this data into SLA reports in JIRA. Once the appropriate data is captured (from our REST API), we will setup automations and SLA's in JIRA to notify the proper parties involved - our internal customer support team and members from our customer's team.

1) In JIRA where I do begin with connecting to our internal REST API for data elements needed in this report?
2) How do I modify a standard SLA report to add customizable fields?

I am really just looking for guidance and knowledge knowing this can be done in JIRA.
