Jira Service Management Portal - Annoucements or Scrolling Banners

Hi,

Is it possible in the Jira User Portal to add a Service Announcement or a scrolling banner to notify people about an issue?

This would allow, if the issue is a scrolling banner, to click on it, which would then auto-create a ticket linked to the parent Incident?

With a Service Announcement, it would provide details of an ongoing issue. 

It's something we could do on the ServiceNow User Portal, and it would be good to try to recreate it in Jira.

This should be doable with out-of-the-box features.

Please have a look at https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/add-an-announcement-to-the-portal/ in order to learn more about how to add an announcement banner to a portal or help center.

Including the required steps for visibility (not having to do the extra click on the link):

Portal banner:

Space admins can add announcements to the portal or give permission to agents to do the same.

To add an announcement to the portal:

  1. In your service space, select Channels.

  2. Hover over Portal and select Open.

  3. Select Customize from the top navigation, then Manage announcements.

  4. Enter the announcement title and message.

  5. Select Save changes.


Help center banner:

You need to be a Jira admin to add announcements to the help center. Jira admins can also give agents permission to add announcements to the help center.

To add announcements to the help center:

  1. Go to Settings (), then select Apps, then Jira Service Management.

  2. Select Configuration.

  3. In the Help center section, select View all help centers.

  4. Select the help center you want to add the announcement in.

  5. Select Customize from the top navigation, then Manage announcements.

  6. Enter the announcement title and message.

  7. Select Save changes.
