Groovy Script to update user picker field with assignee details basis LOV value in a custom field

Hi,

How can i prepare a groovy script (as a post function) to read an LOV value from a custom field defined under an issue create screen and basis the LOV value selected, it updates the another user picker field post the ticket is created.

I want user to select a value when creating ticket and further when ticket is created, system should update the user picker field with assignee details under it. This field Im using to assign tickets in a workflow as ticket progresses.

Please note, this field needs to be updated once only basis user selecting LOV value during issue creation stage.
