Changes to how automation rules are counted in Jira Cloud

Deleted user October 20, 2023

Some people are experiencing that according to the new way of counting simulator automations, it shows a smaller amount than the previous version. For example, with the previous version we counted 10,000 thousand executed per month, and now according to the simulator that applies as of November 1, it counts 8,000 thousand. How is it possible if, according to the new model, rules would not only be taken for multiple projects?

Thanks!

Hi @[deleted] ,

this is new to all of us, so take the following with a grain of salt.

I believe the reason you are seeing this is that the counting is now done on successful rule executions not just the rule being triggered. Does this make sense?

Hi Jack, thanks for your response. Taking into account what you say, we still have doubts since the difference in numbers from the current count to those that will be applied in the future is almost 3,000 thousand less, from the rules for single project, project type, multiproject or global. That's why we want to make sure this count is real.
