Confluence different Design

Giuseppe Pagano September 27, 2022

Hello,

is there a way to customize confluence spaces/project in different styles.

For example, space 1 background orange, space 2 background yellow.

At the moment I can only change the style of all areas at once and not individually.

Is there a way to do this.

If this is possible. What style changes can I make?

Thank you for your Support

Best regards

Giuseppe Pagano

Hi @Giuseppe Pagano

You can customize confluence pages design using macros.

There is a list of built-in macros from Confluence,  but also you can use third-party solutions from the marketplace for macros for design improvements (background, cards, buttons, etc)

For example one of them is Content Formatting Macros for Confluence. This app is developed by my team, so let me know if you have any questions.

Hi @Giuseppe Pagano ,

you can do that through a theme.

Apply a theme to a space

Themes are used to change the appearance of your space. Confluence comes with a default theme, but your Confluence Administrator can download and install other themes from The Atlassian Marketplace

Once a theme is installed, it can be applied to the whole site, or just to individual spaces.

To apply a theme to a space:

  1. Go to the space in Confluence Cloud.

  2. Select Space Settings from the sidebar.

  3. Select Themes from the Look and feel card.
You'll need space admin permission to do this.

  4. Choose a theme option.

  5. Select Confirm.

What's the global look and feel?

Global look and feel refers to a theme that's applied at the site level, and applies to all newly created spaces. Changes made to the global look and feel will flow through to all spaces that inherit it.

If a space has its own theme applied, it won't inherit changes from the global look and feel. To go back to inheriting the global look and feel, select Global look and feel from the Themes tab.
