I want to create a smart button that only a specific person can use to execute an automation. How do I do that ?

Hi @Saira

As described in the documentation, while a Smart Button may be added to a page template, it cannot be configured to use a rule until the actual page is created: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/smart-buttons-for-automation-in-confluence/#Using-smart-buttons-in-page-templates

Here is a suggestion to allow configuring them with templates: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-80888

Regarding permissions, that is not possible yet.  When the Smart Button is configured, it can only select from some pre-defined rules which use a special version of the Manual Trigger...and that version does not allow changing the rule actor or other permissions.

Here is another suggestion to allow associating any manually triggered rule to a Smart Button, and thus also allow changing the permissions: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-79704

Kind regards,
Bill
