Domain DNS verification fails

Jonah January 3, 2024

Atlassian support refuse to help us since we're on the free tier.

The domain DNS verification is not working for us using domain name mondido.com. The TXT record has been added to our zone file with Cloudflare for the root domain (*).

Error message:

"We're unable to verify the domain
Updates to your DNS can take up to 72 hours."

More than 72 hours have passed but the error message remains. We have even tried to remove and re-add the TXT record. Same error message.

What can be done? We have tried to reach out to the Atlassian support team, but they refuse to help.

This is still an issue. Anyone from Atlassian available in this support channel or how do I reach out to them?

Hi, @Jonah

As far, as I see, you already have required TXT record in your domain
https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=txt%3amondido.com&run=toolpage

It looks ok (I don't see any difference from record, which I made for my domain, when I was verifying domain, except of code, of course).

Thanks for confirming @Evgenii

Something must be blocking on Atlassian side. Maybe there is another account claiming the same domain name.

Not sure that it's possible. Atlassian looks at current TXT record and re-checks it regularly.
It's information, which Atlassian writes as warning "Remember to keep the DNS record on your server (don't delete it). We need to verify it regularly.".
If I understand it right, TXT record will be removed, domain will lose verification.
What exactly you entered in settings?

@Evgenii Which settings are you referring to? I have just followed the guided steps provided by Atlassian for verifying our domain name.

Hi, @Jonah

I used this manual

https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/verify-a-domain-to-manage-accounts/

It's settings, which are opening, when I add new domain for verification.

I'm on Original User Management, so domain verification is located under Admin / Directory.
