Hi everyone,
I was thinking of a convenient way to document knowledge in confluence, but I have found that most of our knowledge on is found in small bits and pieces in Slack. The disconnect seems to be that the effort it takes for someone to go into Confluence and write an article based on some information from Slack is getting in the way from actually doing it. I was wondering if there is a good way to generate or add to a Confluence page from within Slack.
Ideally, I would like to click on a Slack message or thread and immediately generate or open a new confluence page containing the text and images from the Slack post/thread.
I would love to hear your thoughts!
@Andy Gladstone you mentioned "an integration that will allow for editing existing Confluence Cloud pages from Slack" - what's the name of this? I can't find it anywhere
@Yedidya Weiner Welcome to the Atlassian Community.
Super sorry, but the answers in no. Or at least not yet.
The connections between Confluence and Slack allow for push notifications to be sent from Confluence pages to Slack channels, and there is even an integration that will allow for editing existing Confluence Cloud pages from Slack. However, there is no functionality to select text from a Slack message and create a new page, or even forward that text to an existing page, that currently exists.
Here are a few resources that may help:
Perhaps I am wrong and there is a Marketplace app that can do this, but as far as I know it is not (yet) possible.
Direct quote from me to our org when we started using both products:
Slack is where conversations take place, Confluence is where the content is documented

@Yedidya Weiner my mistake! This is a discussion, not a question - so that functionality is not available. All good!

Im sorry, but I don't see an option to mark the answer as accepted

@Andy Gladstone Thanks for the response! Yeah, I found a couple apps on the marketplace that may actually help solve this, but the organization won't approve a subscription XD
בשמחה!
