Create Work Item Macro only showing Sandbox Site and not Production

Corey Hampton

I'm the Atlassian Admin so I have the correct permissions. When I'm in Confluence and try to use the Create Work Item macro, only the Sandbox site is available and not our Production site.

This worked find a few weeks ago and all of a sudden it doesn't.

Hi @Corey Hampton ,

This usually happens when Confluence is no longer connected to the Production Jira site, even though you still have admin permissions.

The Create Work Item macro only shows Jira sites that are actively linked to Confluence via an Application Link / Jira integration. If Production suddenly disappeared, it typically means the link was removed, broken, or its permissions changed.

What to check:

In Confluence → Settings → General configuration → Application links / Jira links

Verify that the Production Jira site is still connected and shows as active

If it’s missing or broken, re-create the Jira–Confluence link

Also confirm you still have Jira product access on the Production site (not just org admin)

Once the Jira–Confluence link is restored, the Production site will reappear in the Create Work Item macro.

This is a common issue and not related to the macro itself.
