Confluence template list variable can't be reused/updated

Hi Community,

I created a global template in my Confluence where I defined a list type variable with 3 options. When I create a new Confluence page using this template, the variable is shown as list and I can pick one of the option from the list.

This is a screenshot for the variable.

However, when I published the page and open it again, I can't edit this variable because it became a plain text line in Confluence page. Do you know if this is the limitation Confluence has or I need to make some configuration to make the list variable working? Thanks a lot!

Yi

@Yi Meng This is how variables in templates work in Confluence Cloud. Once you set a value for the variable, it becomes text on the new page.

OK. If that's by design, I'm fine with it. I was expecting this could be a workaround for drop-down list in Confluence page.

Thank you!
