Hi,
I have a very large space full of topics that need to be kept in alphabetical order for ease of customer access. I understand that the drag and drop reorder system is the new method, but that you can override it using Space Settings > Content > Reorder; however, this does not work for me. It seems that this only works for old topics that were created before the new system was implemented. I have used the reorder alphabetically option several times, and yet new pages created within the last 18 months or so continuously pop to the bottom of the page tree. I publish this space every two weeks, and I have to fix this issue every time I publish. It has been driving me insane.
Please tell me I'm just doing something wrong, and there is a way to permanently reorder pages alphabetically and get them to stop popping back to the bottom of the tree.
Thanks,
kyle
Hello @Kyle Gamm
If you use the space setting reorder option, then every new page created on any level of the tree, will appear at the bottom of the section.
But you don't have to reorder the whole space again, simply drag and drop the page where it belongs in the alphabetical order.

However, I tried to reorder items in my space using the option directly in the page tree:
A little A->Z label appears at the top of the tree.
I created a new page and it slotted exactly where expected. I refreshed the page a couple of times and it survived.
Having said that... this method 'destroys' your page tree structure, basically it arranges ALL pages in the tree alphabetically. Once you remove the A->Z setting, the tree returns to its original structure.
If your tree is flat, then this method might be a solution.
Thanks Kris,

That is the issue I'm having - I drag and drop the page to where it belongs alphabetically every two weeks, and two weeks later when I need to re-publish the content, all of the new pages have snapped back to the bottom again. Nothing is staying where I put it.
We do have a page tree structure for customers, so just using the AtoZ sort option that breaks the page tree is not an option, unfortunately.
