Cannot view or format size of Roadmap Planner in Template

I can add a Roadmap Planner macro just fine on my pages. However, when I insert it in a template, it shows the element, but it is only a few lines tall and does not show the content.

It is as if it needs to be resized. I can edit the Roadmap Planner (add lanes, tasks, etc), but as soon as I insert or close, it cannot be viewed since the element isn't tall enough. 

This is true by inserting the macro directly or copying and pasting from a page.

Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

@Scott Durham welcome to the Atlassian community

If you save the template and then use it does it properly render the roadmap planner?  My guess is that it has something to do with how the template interprets the macro but it will not impact the creation of the macro on the page when it is created.  Can you confirm?
