Hello,

I am creating a template that will generate a page that uses a bunch of excerpts in the space it will be created in. But when adding the insert excerpt macro to the page template I need to enter the space where the excerpt exists, but I want a general solution that works for every space, so ideally I want to do something similar to smart values like {{space.name}} and then <excerpt-name> which will always be the same since they are also created from templates.

Any ideas or suggestions on how I can achieve this?

Why are smart values not usable in all macros? Feels like the implementation is halfway there already, and it would help with a lot of things.

@niklas_grundstrom welcome to the Atlassian community

There is not a way to do that on the temple dynamically with the excerpt macro. I would suggest submitting a feature request here: https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa?selectPageId=10440
