Hi Team,
Is there a future feature release in the pipeline, that supports the adding of attachments (screenshots/image files) to Confluence pages & Jira work items via using the Atlassian Rovo MCP Server?
According to the official Atlassian Rovo MCP Server - Supported tools page, the complete list of write tools for Confluence and Jira is:
Confluence write tools:
Jira write tools:
There is no attachment upload tool in either list. Uploading files or images to Confluence pages or Jira work items through the MCP Server is simply not a capability that has been built yet. Teams are having to manually upload these at present, which is a lot of effort.
I'm keen to hear from the team.
Cheers
Tori
Hi @Tori Tuhi
Welcome to the community!
Your list of the current supported tools is accurate. There's no attachment upload capability in the Rovo MCP Server right now, and you're not the only one asking for it.
In the meantime, you can make use fo the REST API if your workflow can handle a two-step process-
Use the MCP Server for page/issue creation and then hit the Confluence REST API (POST /wiki/rest/api/content/{id}/child/attachment
Hi Ajay,
Thank you for the response. I will share the REST API information with my team to socialise out to our broader internal audience. Can you share the parent feature request, schedule release link or where developments are being communicated about the attachment upload issue.
I would love to keep our customers entertained with regular updates if possible.
Many Thanks
