Happy Wednesday Everyone!
In case you didn't hear, yesterday was "Pi" day, being that March 14th can look like the first three digits of the mathematical constant. This is typically celebrated with people making and consuming "Pie" being a pun for the same.
Did you celebrate this? And if so, what kind of pie did you have?
Personally I did not. I haven't ever really enjoyed pie, and I know that is going to make me unpopular with some people, but it's all about the pastry/crust. For the same reason I'm not a big fan of tarts or croissants.
If I am going to have pie, it would need to be a key lime pie with a graham cracker crumb crust. But unfortunately, my wife and I were too busy this week to be able to put the effort required into making one.
How about you? Let me know in the comments below!
Have a great rest of the week!
I feel that I have a Pi(e) day everyday 😂
I would be more inclined to have cake every day!
With a sick kiddo at home yesterday, we didn't make it happen this year. For some reason, it felt like the date snuck up on me. When I was a teacher, I think I was a lot more aware of upcoming fun things to celebrate.
I did share this with my team yesterday and it sounded like a couple were having pizza and/or pie to celebrate! My pie of choice would also be something with a graham cracker crust. I made a delicious lemon meringue pie a couple of weeks ago for my sister's birthday, but my favorite is probably banana cream!
I'm sorry to hear that! I can relate to sick children causing you to lose all sense of time.
Hello Community!
Our team had a great time celebrating pi-day yesterday! As a celebration highlight, we had delicious pi-shaped pi(e) and pi(zzas) in the office.
@Anastasia Bek _Stiltsoft_ that is pretty amazing! I bet it was just as tasty!
@Jimmy Seddon Yes, one of the best our team ever tried!
I too am more of a cake person, and didn't have a chance to celebrate Pi day. But if I did, my go to pie would be key lime with meringue on top!
@Kate Clavet you have impeccable taste! ;)
Right back atcha @Jimmy Seddon !🙃
Are belated celebrations allowed? Didn't make it out, but I am now craving some delicious pies.
I don't see why not... go for it!
Sure, it's always a good idea to celebrate a day with some tasty food that bring you joy!
Just north of Phoenix there's a place along the I-17 highway called Rock Springs Cafe that's famous for their pies. I picked up a few, just to celebrate.
Pictured is the bourbon pecan pie, made with Jack Daniels
Yum! There's a great BBQ place here that does a smoked pecan pie. SO good!
We had chicken pot pie for dinner and key lime pie for dessert!
Having the pot pie on Pi Day was a total accident, but we did remember to swing by Publix to pick up the key lime pie to celebrate. I was halfway done with making the pot pie when I realized the connection. LOL
Pizza pie - that is a variation I had not considered! I'll file that away for next year. :)
Good topic @Jimmy Seddon
I celebrated by sharing this most amazing picture in (almost) EVERY single Slack conversation I had on Pi day :)
