It's Thursday!

It's Thanksgiving already again! Amazing how fast time flies. Feels like fall just started...

For those of you who celebrate it, happy Thanksgiving! Hope your holiday is turning out wonderful. Share some pictures of your feast, if you have time and opportunity to do so.

I believe this holiday is an unknown term to us Europeans 😅 Although, I would love to experience this day at least once as it looks like all preparations for it are even bigger than for Christmas 👀

Flew solo this Thanksgiving, so had my traditoinal Feast. Feast is "Go to Uber Eats. Decide on cost limit (I kept it $100 this yr). Order 10 people's worth of food for yourself." I switched it up this year and went with a grocery Feast. It consisted of:

• 2 lb. quiche lorraine
• Half cherry/half apple pies (add'l whole cherry followed)
• Family-szied mac
• Family-sized bacon mac
• Family-szied mac salad
• 4 chorizo breakfast burritos w/ commandeered T-Bell green sauce
• 2 supreme pizzas
• Dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets
• Funfetti frosting just outta the jar like an animal

Food coma'd HARD this year. I'd say successful Feast!

Quiet kinda day with a few homemade favorites - mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, cranberry sauce, chocolate chip cookies, three bean soup, fresh salad. Our son joined us for several hours which is always fun. He is currently single so it was just the three of us. We feel incredibly blessed!

Was a quiet Thanksgiving in Dubai with just me and my wife. It's hard not to miss family and friends back at home on days like that But we had a good meal and time together, thanking God for his continued provision.

It was just me and my parents this year. My mom is recovering from a recent surgery, so I was in charge. We did some prep ahead of time, and we only had turkey breast, sweet potatoes, kapusta (polish sweet and sour cabbage), cranberry sauce, and gravy. I also made an apple pie for dessert. It was my first time doing a crumb topping, but I can report that the frozen gluten free pie crusts from Trader Joes are great (if you need such a thing).

Hope everyone who celebrated had a wonderful day. I always missed this holiday when I lived in England, but I would make myself a small turkey dinner that day.

But, I have to put a classic Creole staple from Louisiana on your radar. Our family from Baton Rouge family use to drive up to our house in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. They brought this.

That is a turkey stuffed with cornbread stuffing, a whole chicken, a whole duck, and crawfish and shrimp jambalaya. We also would put andouille sausage in ours.

Is it necessary? No. Is it beyond decadent? Oh absolutely. Did mankind need to invent this? Probably not. Does it taste awesome covered with leftover etouffee sauce as gravy? 100%. Cannot recommend it enough.
