Friday Fun: Whats your favorite food?

This is my first Friday fun😝 post.

I am very foodie. I love to eat and cook. The food gives us energy. Without food, there is no life. There are so many dishes available in today’s world some like Indian foods like Biryani, Dosa, Pav Bhaji, Pani Puri etc whereas some like western foods like Pizza, Burger, Noodles etc. Among the number of food, Pizza is my favourite food because it tastes and smells fabulous.

The pizza itself looks so yummy, crispy and so cheesy. There is no better feeling in the world than a warm pizza box on your lap. My love for Pizza is very high. I am always hungry for pizza, be it any time of the day. Cheese is the secret ingredient of any food it makes any food taste yummy. Nearly any ingredient can be put on pizza. Those diced vegetables, jalapenos, tomato sauce, cheese and mushrooms make me eat more and more like a unique work of art. Every pie is a different shape and size. There are thin-crust pies, deep dish pies, and everything in between. There are pies with different cheeses and tomato sauce, or even pies with a completely different base altogether. On every occasion, I celebrate it with pizza style. There are times when I get scolded for having a pizza all the time because anything in excess causes harms to our health but a pizza lover will always be a pizza lover. There is something between me and pizza the bond which cannot be broken.

I absolutely love Polish dumplings (pierogi)!🥟🥟🥟 The soft dumpling dough combined with various fillings is irresistible. Whether it's traditional fillings like potato and cheese, sauerkraut and mushroom, or sweet fillings like blueberries or strawberries, pierogi always satisfy my taste buds.

Pierogi also holds cultural significance as a staple in Polish cuisine, often enjoyed during holidays (e.g. Christmas). It's fascinating how food brings people together, creating tradition and nostalgia.

What I also love about pierogi is that they can be prepared in different ways. You can boil them, pan-fry them for a crispy texture, or even bake them. They can be served with sour cream, melted butter, or fried onions to enhance their flavors.

Overall, Polish dumplings (pierogi) are a culinary delight, combining flavors, comfort, and a connection to Polish culture. They're one of my all-time favorite foods.

@Manoj Gangwar the picture in the post already has me wanting to grab my phone and order up some slices of pizza!   Pepperoni and Mushrooms (I used to add extra cheese too).  

We started putting them on the grill for an extra kick of flavor.

I'm torn.  I love a lot of foods, but 2 things stick out far beyond the rest. 

The first is a recent love, Bulgogi BBQ.  It's sweet, savory, meaty, salty, and hand-down one of the tastiest ways to prepare meat.  The rest of my family agrees, Korean BBQ night is always a winner here!

The second is an old love, one that I will never give up, Picadillo.  I'll swim to Cuba right now for this dish!  The mix of flavors in the dish are beyond description, but when ingredients like garlic, ginger, orange, capers, and Latin spices come together and swim around all day, the taste is magic!

I'll eat almost anything, but my absolute favorite genre of food is seafood... especially shrimp, crab, lobster, clams, mussels, oysters... as well as pretty much any fish, but especially salmon, bass, pompano, grouper, catfish, frog legs... and the list goes on and on.  I especially love catching my own and cooking our catch.  We recently spent a week in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and we caught some 30 or so fish (fed a few of the smaller ones to the Blue Heron watching us fish), along with about 30 blue crab.

When we got back home to Kentucky, we had a Low Country crab boil... nothing like it!!

Now that we're getting into summery weather here in Wisconsin, I've been really loving burgers. My husband got a Blackstone last year and has really perfected smashburgers. 😋

He also loves making homemade pizza which is a favorite, too! I think I better tell him how grateful I am for his cooking skills. 😅

I always love pizza, but being in the military most of my life, pizza was different in the region of country I was living in the US.  So Napolean thin crust is my favorite.

Lately, Bulgogi bowls are my favorite food.  You can make them very healthy if you want.  The more vegetables the better for me...

Like a lot of others, I'm going with pizza.

But with the caveat that I really mean flatbreads - start with unleavened bread,add some cheese, and maybe tomato sauce, and I'm in.  Everything else is a bonus.  Doesn't have to be a pizza, anything on a flatbread might work.

It's the opposite.  You should never put pineapple on pizza.  Not because it's not right for pizza, but because it's not right for anything.  Pernod, Pineapple, and Purple toilet-duck are utterly vile, and equally unfit for human consumption. 

Well, this human anyway, the rest of you have different tastes.  We don't have lemon or pineapple in this house, and I regularly feed the bunny down the road most or all of the coriander our recipe boxes include. 

I have to leave them out of anything I cook (I'm the most frequent cook, probably doing 4/5ths of the shared meals), and we don't even get "lemon fresh" cleaning products.  I'm "meh" on lemon and coriander, but I do like lime which is a bit close to lemon, so I can only cook with it when it's an optional garnish, sauce, or going into my g&t and not hers.

I had a letter to "New Scientist" published once, on the subject of "my game console smells of lemon, so I'm not allowed to have it in the house"

I'm going with BBQ.  Yes I live in Canada.  Yes I BBQ all year.  No I don't use gas.  I'm a hard wood guy, nothing else comes close.

I like all kinds of food! Mostly it depends on the mood I am in at the time. But I honestly think I could eat a freshly made and cooked hamburger everyday of the week.

I love food and enjoy eating very much, but Sushi holds a special place in my heart. Its unique flavors and delicate textures make it a truly remarkable culinary experience. Here are a few reasons why sushi has captured my taste buds and secured its position as my go-to meal:

I think I am probably missing the main point of sushi because I don't eat fish, and nori tastes soapy to me.  (TLDR: vegetarian, mainly because of a genetic condition that means meat, especially fish, tends to give me howling indigestion)

But.

I discovered katsu sauce because my wife loves sushi.  I'm not too clear on what katsu actually means (is it really just the sauce?), but when we go for sushi, you can guarantee if something says katsu and has the vegetarian flag on it, I'm having it.  And what's not to love about a good tempura?

The best I've ever had was in a "fusion" restaurant though.  Sushisamba  have taken the sushi idea and brought in ideas of South American food, which works surprisingly well (but they still do pure sashimi and sushi)

I went for lunch in the Vegas branch at Team-23, excellent, but the London branches were better for me (I won't argue with you if you say that might be because I was less exhausted and didn't get interrupted by other Atlassian geeks wandering in when into them).  I can't speak for the branches in Middle East, but if you get a chance to visit any of their branches, put it high on your list of places to try eating.

My favourite food is chicken biryani, specially my wife's recipe.  It has all my favourite ingredients. It is spicy and it has sour yogurt.  You can never go wrong with it.

I love a good Filet Mignon! That is my absolute favorite, especially as a multi course meal with and some bread and a salad to start, some type of potato (baked, mashed, or twice baked), some type of vegetable (mushrooms, green beans, broccoli) and a large slice of cake! YUM! My second favorite is Mexican! I can't go a week without some tacos!
