Hi all, we're using Trello as part of a publishing workflow, where a designer adds an image to the card to be uploaed into our CMS by an editor.
The site's image naming convention specifies no hyphens or underscores. Our designers attach images to Trello cards without hyphens, but Trello seems to add them when they're downloaded again. This means we're having to rename the images a second time to remove them.
Anyone know:
a) why this happens?
b) if it can be disabled or altered?
Thanks for your help.
Hi Michael,
Sorry, yes, I meant underscores. Our CMS adds hyphens (and we don't use underscores) so we're having to rename them before we upload.
Sounds like we'll have to live with that if we keep using Trello for our workflow.
Hi Jen,
When you mention that your designers attach images to Trello cards without hyphens, do you mean without underscores? Do those filenames have spaces in them? Files on the web are highly discouraged from having spaces in filenames, and Trello gets around this by changing any spaces or special characters in uploaded filenames to underscores, in order for them to be stored on our file servers. You see this upon downloading those files again.
At this time, this behavior can't be disabled or changed, unfortunately, but I'll let the team know that's something you're looking for!
