Is there a way to chat with workspace members, or guests from a specific board in a special tab.

Let's say one member has a question about a card, they should be able to send a message in a chat-like format, and they should get a unique notification that someone "DM'ed" them. Sort of like Instagram DM.

(Because i get tons of notifications on daily basis of every move that's occurring within the workspace, and sometimes a guest will tag me in a comment regarding an important question or note that they might have, or Vice versa, but it will get washed away by all other notifications from that day, So a unique notification in a chat-like format would be very helpful for our team.)

Waiting to hear back from you!

Hi @Effy

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

Trello does not have a native DM (Instagram/Facebook like) chat feature built-in. The way Trello does this is through leaving comments (and tagging people) on a Trello card.

However, there are third-party applications (i.e Trello PowerUps) that offer chat functionality within a Trello board similar to Slack or Microsoft Teams. For example, there’s a (paid) PowerUp called Board Chat that allows you to add a chat section to any board in Trello. I’m sure there are probably more power-ups that offer similar functionality so it may be worthwhile to run a quick search and see if it’s worth looking into.

Best,

Hamza
