Many employees at our company only have customer portal access in Jira, and they work out of Trello. They submit tickets, but do not work out of Jira. They have not had luck turning links to tickets they've submitted into any sort of smart link within Trello. Is this because they do not have Jira permissions beyond the customer portal? They are set up as internal customers.

In order for the Smart Link to work, our system needs to be able to find that site on the internet. So, you'd need your JSM portal to be publicly available on the internet.
For the link in your screenshot, I have to log in when I navigate to that link, which means the Smart Link won't work.
