I have a membership website and have created a useful Trello board that I want to give to my members. It's a type of planner, so they would be able to add, delete, change it in any way to suit their purposes. I want them each to have this board in their own Trello account. It coincides with the content of my membership and will help them make progress.
I thought I could do this by having them set up their own Trello accounts and then sharing the board with them, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Can someone help me figure out a way to do this. I had planned on this being one of the benefits of their membership, so it's important!
Thanks!
Hi @Lisa Bedford when you say you were trying to share the board with them did you have them go to the board and then select copy board? That way they would have a template board on their own Trello account and make changes to suit their needs. You may have to make this board public in order for this to be possible, as you can't copy private boards to protect the contents of the board. Once you change the board setting to public you can share the link with your members and the directions on how to copy board.

Jodi, my members are running into this issue. They have set up their accounts, clicked on my board link, but do not get the same menu that I do.

My group member gets to this menu and there is no Copy Board. I'm beginning to think they need to go through this process on a desktop, not mobile.

Hi @Lisa Bedford , Michael from Atlassian Team wrote this on another thread "The Copy function is available for all boards, but it might be that your account is in an experiment with a simplified view. This is a feature we're testing for new users to help teach them how to use Trello incrementally. If you head into your Board Menu on the right side of your board, then go to More and then Settings, you'll see an option to skip ahead and open up all of the expected features!".
So please have them click on settings and they will see option for skip ahead and open all features. I apologize I did not realize Trello was experimenting with a simplified view for new users.
Thank you,
Jodi

Hi @Lisa Bedford it looks like from the screenshot that the user is opening Trello via mobile (phone or ipad). In that case they would click on the small arrow on the right of "about this board" (it is an arrow without the stick, looks like this "<"), they would then see a menu. They would click on "...More" (3rd option in list) and it would open the full menu where they would see the option to "copy board". They would then rename the copy of your board and it would be saved in their Trello boards for them to adapt and update to suit their needs.
Let me know if that helps.
Thanks,
Jodi

Thanks @Lisa Bedford it turns out you can copy "private" setting boards, so with the method I subscribed above (with the more function), they should be able to see "copy board" even when you set the view back to private.
Thanks,
Jodi
