Card templates

When I create a new card it is always connected to an older card that has been created as a template.

The new created card contains all the custom fields of the template card. But i dont want that!

Then when I change something like the name of a custom field in the new created card, it changes it also in the old card that is a template?

is this a bug!?

No. Custom field definitions are maintained at the board level. So a change in the definition will apply to all cards on the board.
