I have numerous automations in place on our boards and feel pretty comfortable with what is and isn't possible. But struggling with an odd one.
I have automations in place to auto-archive cards once they are 12 hours past their due date.
But some of our editorial users like to mark their cards as complete. But this seems to check the cards out of the above automations. "Complete" seems to override the due date field and I can't find a way of auto-archiving completed cards a set time after the due date that was set on them.
(I can't auto-archive based on the time since they were marked complete, as users might do this weeks before the content the card is about actually published.)
I want a rule that says "archive cards 12 hours after due date regardless of whether marked as complete". Is this possible?
Hi Richard,
Thanks for reaching out - yes this is a strange one! When a due date is marked as complete it is considered no longer due. Therefore the due date is no longer used in automation, which I can see affects your workflows.
Would an alternative be to archive the card when the due date is marked as complete or take another action (such as remove the completion) so that your archive rule could work on those cards too?
Thanks,
Ryan
